Outreach
“TYC gives me a place to stay out of the rain and a chance to connect with people. It gives me a break and I like the resources I get from The Youth Connection.”
Our outreach team meets youth where they are—on the streets, in schools, and at local events throughout Mason and North Mason County. We connect with young people ages 12–24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, offering food, drinks, hygiene supplies, and tents when needed.
As the first point of contact, our team provides a caring connection and completes partial intakes to quickly link youth with our care team and other support services.
Each week, we also host morning outreach, giving community members coffee and sharing resources for anyone, of any age, who might need support. Our team organizes all of our parties, events, and celebrations throughout the year. We also maintain two “Adopt-a-Park” locations, partnering with the city to keep them clean.
We are always looking for volunteers! You can help with outreach, events, or regular daily activities at our centers, including lunch and crafts. Every interaction is focused on building trust, offering support, and helping young people take the first step toward safety, stability, and a brighter future.
